In a tragic development, DNA testing has confirmed that a body discovered in a Texas creek belongs to Rana Nofal Soluri, a flight attendant who had been missing since March 2025. Her former roommate, Dennis Day, is facing murder charges in connection with her death.
Soluri’s remains were located on June 13, 2025, but confirmation of her identity came only recently, according to a Fort Worth Police Department spokesperson. The investigation revealed that her body was found by a fisherman under a bridge in Montague County, approximately 70 miles from Fort Worth.
After the discovery, her body was sent to the University of North Texas Health’s Center for Human Identification and was later returned to her daughter, Lulu Soluri. American Airlines facilitated her burial in Seattle on September 29, as noted on a GoFundMe page set up to support the family.
Day, 67, was arrested in June 2025 after police suspected him in Soluri’s disappearance. Authorities reported that he confessed to strangling her during a dispute and subsequently disposed of her body in a trash bin, which he transported to Bowie, Texas, where he dumped her remains over a bridge.
Additional evidence against Day includes an accidental voicemail that he left on the phone of Joni Thomas, who is also facing charges for tampering with evidence. In the voicemail, Day is heard requesting her assistance in moving Soluri’s body, reinforcing the police’s case against him.
Surveillance footage from Day’s home reportedly shows him dragging what appears to be a lifeless body from his residence into the backyard, further corroborating the timeline and events leading to Soluri’s tragic fate.
As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of a beloved flight attendant who had worked for a regional carrier associated with American Airlines.
