Ego Nwodim, a former cast member of “Saturday Night Live,” took to social media to voice her criticism of Shane Gillis’ recent monologue, in which he made derogatory comments about women’s gym attire. Gillis, during his hosting stint, asserted that women wearing short shorts to the gym were dressing like “whores,” sparking widespread outrage.

In response, Nwodim humorously captioned an Instagram story featuring her own gym outfit, stating, “Whore reporting for duty,” while showcasing her black leggings and long-sleeve shirt. She followed this with another post flaunting her post-workout meal, cleverly using the term “heauxing” as slang for “whoring.”

The backlash against Gillis’ remarks has been significant, with many labeling his comments as “tone deaf,” particularly in light of ongoing discussions surrounding women’s rights and respect for their bodies. His seven-minute monologue included claims that he was unaware women dressed in such a manner and criticized the vibrant colors of their workout clothes. Gillis suggested that men are not permitted to look at women in these outfits.

Actor Dan Levy also joined the conversation, posting a video on Instagram to emphasize that women’s choice of clothing does not define their character, stating, “Women wearing short shorts at the gym does not make them whores. It makes the men calling them whores misogynists.” He further argued for greater support from men towards women in society.

This incident marks Gillis’ third appearance as host on “SNL.” He was previously dismissed from the cast in 2019 after controversial clips of his past racist jokes surfaced. Meanwhile, Nwodim was a prominent figure on “SNL” from 2018 to 2025, known for her memorable characters and comedic talent.
