In a concerning development, a recent intelligence memo has revealed that Iran’s efforts to target U.S. officials in the Middle East have escalated significantly. The memo, authored by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, emphasizes that these “lethal plotting efforts” have reached advanced stages, raising alarms within the U.S. government.

This warning comes as U.S. military officials have also indicated a strategic reduction of troops in the region. Sources confirm that the U.S. is scaling back its military presence at various bases, with the State Department ordering further cuts in diplomatic staff across countries like Lebanon, the UAE, Qatar, and Jordan.

According to the memo, the risk of Iranian attacks extends to more individuals than previously acknowledged. Clayton noted the necessity to disseminate intelligence carefully to ensure relevant personnel are informed without compromising security protocols.

The ongoing conflict has prompted the U.S. to place numerous diplomatic posts on “Restricted Operations” status, which limits their staffing and operational capacity. This precautionary measure reflects the heightened threat perception linked to Iranian aggression.

Amid these geopolitical tensions, President Trump has hinted at potential military actions against Iran, stating he is considering “major strikes” against critical targets, including nuclear facilities. This comes after Iran expressed a desire to negotiate over the Strait of Hormuz, a proposal Trump rejected, citing Iran’s recent struggles.

As the situation evolves, the safety of U.S. personnel remains a top priority, with officials pledging to take all necessary steps to ensure their security amid increasing threats from Iran.
