The fifth week of the NFL season showcased remarkable performances, including notable comebacks from Aaron Rodgers and Drake Maye, reminding fans not to count them out just yet.
Rodgers, who struggled at the start of the season, demonstrated his prowess by throwing three touchdown passes for the Pittsburgh Steelers in a convincing 34-22 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. This marks the third consecutive game with at least three touchdowns for Rodgers, a feat he last accomplished during his MVP season in 2021. With this win, the Steelers improve to a 3-2 record.
Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers sought to restore their rivalry dominance over the Chicago Bears, winning decisively 31-7. The game was particularly significant as it was the first matchup since the Bears’ playoff comeback victory last season. Jordan Love shone, completing 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his development as a starting quarterback.
Drake Maye, the New England Patriots quarterback, is finding his rhythm again after a rough start. He put on a stellar performance against the Las Vegas Raiders, throwing for 374 yards and four touchdowns, in addition to a rushing score, leading his team to a 45-17 triumph. Over his last two games, Maye has thrown seven touchdowns against just one interception.
As the season progresses, the Minnesota Vikings remain undefeated after a narrow 23-13 win over the New Orleans Saints, bolstered by a strong defensive performance. In contrast, teams like the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, and Los Angeles Chargers continue to search for their first victories, sitting at 0-5.
Week 5 was also marked by dramatic finishes, including a thrilling game in London where the Jacksonville Jaguars clinched a last-second victory over the Philadelphia Eagles with a walk-off field goal. This week highlighted the unpredictable nature of the NFL, with three teams remaining undefeated and three still in search of their first win.
