John Frieda, the renowned British hairstylist celebrated for creating the Frizz Ease brand, has passed away at the age of 75. His family confirmed the news in a heartfelt statement shared on his Instagram account, noting he died peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

The exact cause of Frieda’s death has not been disclosed. His family expressed their grief, stating, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our dear John passed away peacefully.” They emphasized his role not just as a family member, but as a significant figure in the hair industry, saying, “John was more than a mentor to us; he was a true icon.” They vowed to honor his legacy by continuing to uphold the values he instilled in them.

Throughout his illustrious career, Frieda styled numerous high-profile clients, including Princess Diana, Madonna, and Jackie Kennedy Onassis, among many others. His journey began in London, where he was born in 1951 and later opened his first salon over three decades ago. He expanded his business to Los Angeles and New York City, solidifying his status in the hairstyling world.

In the 1990s, Frieda revolutionized the hair care industry with the launch of Frizz Ease, a line of products designed to combat frizz, which quickly gained international acclaim. His work not only transformed the hairstyles of many but also paved the way for future generations of hairstylists.

Frieda’s personal life saw him marry pop singer Lulu in 1976 and later, in 2019, marry Avery Agnelli, with whom he shared two children. His stepdaughter, Asia Agnelli Lagrange, paid tribute online, noting, “Today we lost the best man to ever exist,” highlighting the profound impact he had on those around him.
